Privacy isn't a feature of Lycense — it's the whole point.

Data We Collect

Lycense collects no vault data. Your license keys, notes, and purchase details never leave your device. There are no user accounts and no sign-up, and we never see your license keys or any other data you enter. By default we receive no usage statistics; if you opt in, we receive only the anonymous statistics described below.

How Your Data Is Stored

Your license keys, subscription details, renewal dates, prices, and notes are stored in an encrypted local database inside the app's sandboxed container on your device. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly export or back it up yourself.

Import & Export

If you import licenses from a CSV file or export a backup of your vault, those files are read from and written to locations you choose on your own device. They are never uploaded anywhere by Lycense.

Network Access

Lycense works fully offline for your vault data — your license keys, notes, and spend never touch the network. If you purchase Lycense Pro, the app makes a network request to verify your license; this check sends only a device-scoped license identifier, never your vault contents.

Optional Usage Analytics

If you choose to help improve Lycense, the app sends anonymous statistics — app unlocked, Pro page viewed, checkout started — tied only to an anonymous license identifier, never to your identity or your vault. These are stored on our own infrastructure, are off by default, and you can turn them off at any time in Settings.

Purchases

Lycense is free to download. The optional Lycense Pro upgrade ($4.99, one-time) is purchased through Polar, our payment processor, from inside the app. Polar handles all payment processing — we do not receive or store your payment information.

Third-Party Services

Lycense does not use any advertising networks, analytics SDKs, or third-party tracking services. The only third parties involved are Polar (payment processing for the optional Pro upgrade, under its own privacy policy) and Resend (delivering feedback emails you choose to send). Optional usage statistics are stored on our own infrastructure.

Children's Privacy

Lycense does not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you opt in, usage statistics are anonymous and contain no personal information.

Changes to This Policy

If we update this privacy policy, we will post the updated version here with a new effective date.
